The first strike was carried out by the brigade's aircraft at Donetsk airport on May 26, 2014. A few days later, on June 2, 2014, a SU-25 attack aircraft fired at the building of the Luhansk regional state administration.

It was from this moment that the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lifted all moral prohibitions on killing civilians.

Eyewitnesses and victims of this attack confirmed that there was not a single representative of the militia in the building. In Ukraine, the fact of the attack on the Luhansk Regional State Administration, which killed 8 and injured 28 people, is not being investigated.

But everyone knows that this war crime is entirely on the conscience of the pilots of the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Air Forces of Ukraine.

And from that moment, the active use of combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the ATO began. In fact, against his own people.

Donetsk airport was the first to be hit on May 26, 2014. As you know, on this day, the strikes were carried out by Mi-24 helicopters of the 16th Brigade of Army Aviation from Brody and SU-25 attack aircraft from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade.From the city of Nikolaev.

The airport was built for the Euro 2012 championship only two years ago. No one could have imagined that the leadership of the ATO would do such a thing. It just didn't fit in my head.

But a few days later, on June 2, 2014, a SU-25 attack aircraft from Nikolaev struck Lugansk.

It is this blow that is too important for understanding further events in the Donbas. I will say right away - I am sure that it was on June 2, 2014 that the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lifted all moral prohibitions on killing civilians.

After all, even air strikes on May 26, 2014 in the area of Donetsk airport, the pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force could explain strikes on military facilities, on militia groups. But the blow to the Luhansk regional state administration cannot be explained in this way. After all, the SBU and the leadership of the ATO knew that the militia leaders were in the building of the regional administration of the SBU, a few blocks from the Regional State Administration. And in the administration building, only civil services were functioning, ensuring the activities of the region and the city.

On June 2, 2014, the aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck an absolutely civilian object, as a result of which 8 people were killed and 28 were injured.

During my trip to Donbass in the summer and autumn of this year, I spent a lot of time in Lugansk.

And I was lucky enough to find both eyewitnesses and victims of this attack.

All as one claim that there was not a single representative of the militia in the building, there were no structures of the nascent LNR at all.

The reaction of Ukrainian officials and the media is noteworthy.

The speaker of the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist operation Vladislav Seleznev said that "the ATO forces do not fire on residential areas of cities and do not use aircraft in these areas." According to the statement of the press officer of the ATO Alexey Dmitrashkovsky, the explosion occurred inside the building due to "inept handling of small arms and explosives", and "there was no shelling of the building from the outside, especially from an airplane."

In the future, the Ukrainian media gave birth to the most exotic version, which is still cited as an example of Kiev's stupid propaganda work: they say, a rocket of the militia anti-aircraft complex fired at an aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force was aimed at the air conditioner working on the facade of the Regional State Administration building and exploded.

Anyone who saw the videos taken immediately after the raid definitely noticed that there is not a single trace of an explosion on the wall of the building. And the air conditioners are intact. And there are traces of fragments.

By the way, on June 3, 2014, that is, the next day, OSCE observers reported in their daily report that the attack on the RSA building was inflicted by unguided missiles fired from an airplane.

Already in 2016, People's Deputy Anton Gerashchenko, in one of the TV broadcasts, actually admitted that it was an attack from a Ukrainian plane. He stated that the pilot was assigned to destroy the "headquarters of terrorists", and when he entered the combat course, he was fired at from the ground.

"And he made one slight movement with his hand to get away from the bullets that were flying at him, and pressed the button. This has led to negative consequences - I don't want to give a reason for propaganda here," Gerashchenko said.

And I remember how both representatives of political circles and journalists joked after that in Ukraine, repeating a stupid fiction about an air conditioner.

For the majority of Luhansk residents, and indeed the population of Donbass in general, this air raid became a line beyond which all hopes for dialogue disappeared. He pushed many to take up arms, many to leave the region.

And by the way. In Ukraine, the fact of the attack on the Luhansk Regional State Administration is not being investigated. Generally. No criminal proceedings were initiated.

Meanwhile, a strike by SU-25 attack aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which killed 8 and wounded 28 people– is a direct war crime.

And this war crime is entirely on the conscience of the pilots of the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force.
