Nikolay Zlochevsky

Zlochevsky Nikolay Vladislavovic – is a Ukrainian politician and businessman, the former Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Biography

Born on June 14, 1966 in Kiev.

Married. Two children.

In 1998 graduated from Kiev Higher Engineering Radiotechnical School of Air Defense named after Marshal of Aviation A.I.Pokryshkin with specialization “radio engineering of electronic equipment”.

In 2002 graduated from International University of Business and Law, accounting and audit faculty.

From 1983 to 1991 served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

From 1991 to 1999 worked in different commercial structures on executive posts including the Deputy Director of the LLC "InfoKS" in Kiev.

From 1999 to 2000, the CEO of the CJSC "Ukrnefteservis"

From 1998 to 2000, member of the State Committee on Entrepreneurship under the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma.

From 2000 to 2002, Vice President of the LLC "InfoKS".

From 2002 to 2004, People's Deputy of the 4th Ukrainian Verkhovnaya Rada convocation from Social Democratic Party of Ukraine.

From 2003 to 2005, the head of the State Committee on Natural Resources.

From 2005 to 2006, Vice President of the International Charity Foundation for Lawyers.

From 2006 to 2007, People's Deputy of the 5th Ukrainian Verkhovnaya Rada convocation from the Party of Regions. Member of the Verkhovnaya Rada Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety.

From 2007 to 2011, People's Deputy of the 6th Ukrainian Verkhovnaya Rada convocation from the Party of Regions. Member of the Verkhovnaya Rada Committee on issues of budget.

On March 25, 2010 Zlochevsky was appointed the head of State Material Reserve Committee by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers.

On June 2, 2010 Zlochevsky was appointed the Minister of Ecology and Natural

Resources of Ukraine.

On December 9, 2010 Zlochevsky became the head of the reorganized Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

From April 23, 2012 Zlochevsky was the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

On February 26, 2014 Zlochevsky was dismissed from the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council post by the order of an acting president Alexander Turchinov.

Business

LLC "InfoKS" company became the first business project of Nikolay Zlochevsky and he developed it with his partner Nikolay Lisin.  The main activity of the company was the sale of petroleum products.

In 2002 Zlochevsky founded the Ukrainian gas company “Burisma Holdings”. This is currently his main business asset. In 2017 “Burisma” produced more than 1 billion cubic meters of gas.

After the “Maidan” events a number of criminal cases were initiated against Zlochevsky. But he used his corruption ties to avoid punishment from the Ukrainian authority. In April 2014 a whole number of foreign citizens were appointed on senior posts in the company. Among them Hunter Biden, son of then Vice President of the USA Joe Biden.

In addition, with the help of MP Alexander Onishenko Zlochevsky offered the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko a profitable business agreement for ending criminal cases. His company supplied gas to companies affiliated with Poroshenko at a lower cost.

In 2016 Nikolai Zlochevsky founded the European Energy Security Forum in Monaco.
