The municipal stadium in Ternopil named after the commander-in-chief of the UPA Roman Shukhevych. Polish deputies are convinced that he was one of those responsible for the Volyn tragedy. After consultations with the Institute of National Memory and the Polish Foreign Ministry, the city authorities of Tarnow decided that the actions of the leadership of Ternopil are unacceptable.
Tarnow became the second Polish city that broke off cooperation with Ternopil because of Shukhevych. In March, Zamostye took the same step.
