People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Yurchenko, who was involved in a corruption scandal, was beaten in Kiev. He was attacked in the Goloseevsky district on December 9. Two unknown persons inflicted several blows on the parliamentarian, after which they fled in a car. In September, Yurchenko was detained on charges of taking bribes, after which he was expelled from the Servant of the People party. He was later released on bail.
