Chinese investors of "Motor Sich" increased the amount of the claim to Ukraine

The amount of the claim of Chinese investors of PJSC "Motor Sich" to the state increased by $100 million. The shareholders intend to sue the Ukrainian authorities for compensation in the amount of $3.6 billion. In October 2020, Chinese companies sent a document to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with a warning about their intention to launch an international arbitration against Ukraine (Notice of Investment Dispute). They noted that the actions of the country's state bodies contradict the Ukrainian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments, and blocking access to the management of the company is qualified as its "illegal expropriation".
