The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on the reform of the SBU, according to which the special service will be able to block any information resources. The author of the bill, the deputy from the "Servant of the People" Alexander Zavitnevich, admits that the new powers can be used for abuse by the security forces. The initiative proposes to grant counterintelligence agents the right to enter businesses and households without a court order, to interview citizens, and to remove from the elections candidates and political parties that the service recognizes as involved in"separatist or intelligence-subversive activities".
