Saur-Mogila is a burial mound in the Shakhtersky district of Donetsk region. The highest point of Donbass. In the summer of 1943, bloody battles were fought for this peak between Soviet soldiers and Nazi invaders. Tens of thousands of people were killed.
71 years later, blood was spilled on the Saur-Mogila again. This time, the ideological followers of the fascists, the Ukrainian punishers, came to kill their fellow citizens, fulfilling the criminal orders of the new Kiev authorities. Apparently, wanting to match the spirit of their idols, the security forces borrowed their symbols for emblems and chevrons.
Another interesting fact. Today, on the Svetlodarsk Arc, the positions of the Donbass militia are located in the trenches of the Red Army, and the Ukrainian ones are located in the locations of Wehrmacht soldiers.

Hello, dear viewers of my channel.
You know, every time I touch upon the issues of the Kiev authorities' war crimes against their people, interesting historical analogies come up. And interesting nuances. And usually - not in favor of the Ukrainian side.
Saur-Mogila… Kurgan in the Shakhtersky district of Donetsk region. The highest point of Donbass. The height is 277 meters above sea level. The view from the top is for tens of kilometers. During the Second World War, Donetsk region, then Stalinist, was occupied by fascists. As, indeed, the whole of Ukraine. In 1943, after the Battle of Kursk, a large-scale offensive of the Red Army began. On July 17, Soviet troops with a surprise attack broke through the front to a depth of 10 km and occupied a bridgehead on the western bank of the Miusa River near the villages of Stepanovka and Marinovka. The occupied bridgehead also included height 277 ("Saur-Mogila").
To eliminate the threat, the German command urgently transferred tank units from other sections of the southern direction. In particular, SS panzer divisions "Reich" and "Death's Head" were transferred from near Kharkov to the Stepanovka area.
German counterattacks began on July 29. Persistent fighting continued on July 30 and 31. As a result, by August 1, the enemy managed to eliminate the breakthrough and re-enter the Mius River line near the villages of Kuibyshevo - Dmitrovka.
The repeated battle for the top of Saur-Mogila began on August 18, 1943. The height was completely taken by Soviet troops on the morning of August 31. During the battles for hill 277, several tens of thousands of people died and no one at that time could even imagine that in just 70 years blood would be shed on the Saur-Mogila again. Following the example of their ideological predecessors, Ukrainian troops began to pull troops into the area of hill 277 in the summer of 2014. On June 12, the AFU made the first attempt to capture Saur-Mogila. Then the 79th Airborne Brigade failed, suffering losses.
The main battles unfolded in July-August 2014. With the support of tanks and artillery, on August 7, 2014, a group of Ukrainian forces managed to take Saur-Mogila. They held it until the end of August, when the main forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already rolled back far after the defeat in Izvarinsky and Ilovaisk boilers.
And here's what's interesting. I did not just call the Ukrainian punishers ideological followers of the Nazi invaders. In 1943, the German command threw the Das Reich and Totenkopf tank divisions, also known as the "Death's Head", into battle against Red Army units.
And I would like to draw your attention to the emblems of these SS divisions.
The emblem of Das Reich is the so-called Wolfsangel, the wolf hook. The Azov National Guard Regiment, infamous in the modern history of Ukraine, including for its Nazi views, has an almost similar emblem today. And this regiment just took part in the battles for the top.
The emblem of the "Death's Head" division, the white skull "Totenkopf", is also perfectly recognizable…
The emblem of this division is increasingly appearing on the uniforms of Ukrainian security forces. Moreover, characteristically, we are not even talking about the so-called dobrobats. There, Nazi symbols have not surprised anyone for a long time. No, such symbols were worn by fighters of elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Do you remember the loud scandal when, in December 2018, at a meeting with President Poroshenko, such a chevron hung on the chest of a soldier of the 95th airborne brigade? It turns out that the Ukrainian military have found their idols. And they are not embarrassed that these people came to our land a little more than half a century ago with one goal – to kill and enslave.
By the way, do you know that in the area of the Svetlodarsk Arc, the Donbass militia units have their trenches right in the trenches of the Red Army back in 1943? And the Ukrainians, respectively, in the trenches of the Wehrmacht soldiers... another significant coincidence, don't you think?
This is what a historical deja vu turns out: 70 years later, our people are fighting with the carriers of the chevrons of fascist divisions and the carriers of Nazi ideas, as in 1943. And it turns out that we have not just a war. This is a war on the level, more than just fighting - it is again a war for survival, a war of meanings and ideas. These are the sad historical parallels.
And at the end of this short essay, I would like to quote the words of a resident of the village of Sabovka of the Luhansk People's Republic, who survived two wars. She said, "The Fascists stole my youth, the Nazis stole my old age."
