Israeli Ambassador Joel Lyon spoke out against the decision of the Ternopil City Council, which named the local stadium after the Nazi criminal Roman Shukhevych.
The diplomat said that the commander-in-chief of the UPA served in the 201st battalion of the Schutzmannschaft, subordinated to the SS. The ambassador called on the city council to reverse the decision.
