In Odessa, the Chairman of the election Commission and a local resident were detained, and almost 45 thousand US dollars were seized from them during the investigation. The money was planned to be used to bribe voters in local elections on October 25.
For one vote in support of a certain candidate for the post of Odessa mayor, citizens were offered 1000 UAH of monetary remuneration. Proof of voting for the "right" candidate should have been a photo of the ballot with a mark next to his last name.
It is noted that the head of the Commission was previously brought to justice in 2015 for committing crimes related to the electoral process.
